For more than 30 years, St. John Hospital and Medical Center has built a reputation as a leader in cardiovascular care. Home to the W. Warren Shelden Heart and Circulatory Center, SJH&MC is a leader in heart and vascular research and treatment.

Heart failure is the leading cause of death in the United States, and five million people in the U.S are living with heart failure. This disease accounts for 12 to 15 million physician office visits per year and 6.5 million hospital days. In July, St. John Hospital and Medical Center received full Heart Failure Accreditation status from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. SJH&MC is the first hospital in Michigan to receive this recognition, and went through a rigorous process to show how they are managing the heart failure patient most efficiently to improve patient outcomes.
