New Resident Orientation
New Intern and Resident Orientation is a week long process consisting of many different phases. The following is a brief overview of what you can expect during the orientation process. First, Interns and Residents are given the hospital's orientation for new associates. This part of orientation focuses on acclimating the new associate with the rules and regulations of St. John Health. Next, the Interns and Residents attend classes for BLS, ACLS, ACLS recertification, FCCS, Ecare, point of care testing, pda training and a catheterization clinic. During this process Interns and Residents are introduced to key staff members such as the President of St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Director of Medical Education, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Residency Coordinators. During this week new Interns and Residents are also invited to a dinner with the Program Director of each program and the current Interns and Residents. Lastly, we have some fun by hosting an Intern and Resident outing, this years outing was held at CJ Barrymore's!
