Emergency Medicine Residency Program at St. John Hospital and Medical Center

Patricia Petrella Nouhan, M.D., F.A.C.E.P.Dear Prospective Candidate,

Welcome to the St. John Hospital and Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency website.

You are embarking on an exciting journey as you search for the EM training program that suits you best. There are many excellent choices and we are one of them!

As you peruse this website, you will get a sense of who we are and a flavor of what we have to offer you in our curriculum and clinical experiences. I am very proud of our program and its track record of training strong clinicians and leaders. I now have something new to be proud of – our beautiful physical surroundings. Our renovated Emergency Department with 73 private patient care rooms and massive resuscitation area is a state-of-the-art facility and a great place to practice.

The most important asset to our program, however, are the top-notch people involved – the faculty, residents, nurses, ancillary and office staff as well as the interesting patients you will encounter and treat.

The variety and acuity of disease processes encountered by our resident staff are vast and as a result, the clinical acumen they develop is strong. The experience we offer to you as a resident will enable you to excel in your practice wherever you go.

Good luck on your program search and I hope to meet you along the way.

Sincerely,

Patricia Petrella Nouhan, M.D., F.A.C.E.P.
