Services provided by the LCM

An appointment with LCM is appropriate for the following types of adult patients:

  1. Newly diagnosed patients with any of the diseases handled by the clinic (see mission)
  2. Patients with suspected diagnosis of malignant lymphoid disorders due to appearance of enlarged lymph node, enlarged spleen, increase in white blood cell count due to increased lymphocytes (lymphocytosis) or related findings.
  3. Patients with established diagnosis of any of the malignant lymphocyte disorders who wish to have a second opinion regarding the management of their disease.
  4. Patients with relapsed (recurrent) lymphoid malignancy requiring alternative treatment planning

At the direction of the patient, the Lymphoma Clinic is willing to assume primary responsibility for the treatment of any lymphoid malignancy or to work with the patients’ own oncologist in a consultative role. As part of the Van Elslander Cancer Center, the clinic provides all outpatient services like chemotherapy infusion, radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory services in addition to life enhancement and nutritional counseling services on an outpatient basis. Patients who need inpatient services will be admitted to the Oncology Unit of St. John Hospital (6th floor) and will be cared for directly by the Lymphoma Clinic staff.
