Finding the Right Facility For You, the Student

St. John Providence Health System is comprised of seven hospitals plus more than 125 medical facilities in southeast Michigan, with 18,374 employees and 2,340 licensed beds.

Each hospital in the St. John Providence Health System has an individual Medical Education Department with separate student coordinators to assist you with your student requests. Please look at the descriptions and location of our facilities before choosing which hospital you would like to submit your requests to.

St. John Providence Health System Allopathic Division

St. John Hospital (Detroit): A 776-bed Level II trauma center hospital (affiliated with Wayne State University) and located in Detroit, Michigan. St. John Hospital has a 1300-member medical staff and 50 medical and surgical specialties. St John offers residency and fellowship training in 15 programs.  Our pediatric program is dually accredited for both allopathic and osteopathic medicine. Providence Hospital (Southfield): A 419-bed community teaching hospital in Southfield, Michigan. Established in 1869, Providence offers 14 residency training programs and three fellowship programs. St. John Providence Health System Osteopathic Division

St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center (Madison Heights): A 166-bed community based osteopathic hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan that provides extern rotations in over 27 clinical areas and postgraduate training in five track and special emphasis osteopathic internship programs, 10 residency programs and fellowship training in gastroenterology. St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center (Warren): St. John Macomb Hospital is a 376-bed community-based, acute care facility with Centers of Excellence in Behavioral Medicine Services, Cancer Care, Cardiology, Emergency Care, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services, Surgical Services and Women's Health Services and Women's Health. The busy Labor and Delivery Unit, Surgery Center, fast-growing Rehabilitation and Oncology Units, enhanced diagnostic services and ICU and Cancer Center highlight this busy, forward-thinking hospital.
