Transition: Inpatient to Outpatient
The Providence Partial Day Hospital (PDH) Program, in existence since 1973, serves as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care. It is a structured, intensive approach that provides Behavioral Medicine clients more supervision than is possible in an outpatient setting, while avoiding some of the life disruption that comes with inpatient treatment.
PDH clients undergo treatment Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3:15 pm. Lunch is provided. Clients usually attend treatment daily, though their scheduled days may gradually decrease as they approach discharge.
PDH treatment is covered by most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid. Coverage and authorizations will be verified by hospital staff prior to a client's admission.
