Walk to Jerusalem
What is The Walk to Jerusalem?
The Walk to Jerusalem is a walking program developed by St. John Providence Health System parish nursing and designed to increase the physical, spiritual and emotional health of participants. This “imaginary” trip to Jerusalem is accomplished by individuals within the church or organization logging their own walking miles each week. The Walk to Jerusalem usually begins in January with the goal of accumulating enough miles to reach Jerusalem by Easter. The fall version of this walk is The Walk to Bethlehem. This begins in September with the intent of reaching Bethlehem for the Christmas celebrations.
We are happy to announce that the updated and expanded version of The Walk to Jerusalem/Walk to Bethlehem is now available! The expanded version includes new devotions specific to the Advent theme. There is also more information on how to bring the program to various age groups and settings. New country and culture highlights are also included in the expanded version.

The Passport to Good Health (adult and child version) provides a tool for walkers to record individual miles, log their daily fruits and vegetables, list prayer needs and document pre and post tour personal outcomes. (BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol, activity level)

The Walk and Pray booklet provides a starting point for prayer and devotion and includes familiar prayers, hymns and Scripture from many traditions.
