Providence Cancer Institute Service Overview - Surgical Oncology

Certain cancer tumors can be removed through surgery.  Sometimes surgery is a stand-alone treatment option.  For other people, it may be combined with radiation and/or chemotherapy. Surgical specialization is available in breast, thoracic (lung and esophagus), colorectal, urological, prostate, pancreatic, and gynecologic cancers.  Providence oncology surgeons also collaborate with diagnostic imaging radiologists to offer radiofrequency ablation to patients who are candidates for the procedure.

Additionally, Providence's radiology team performs vertebroplasty to treat patients with painful, metastatic lesions to the spine.
