Providence Cancer Institute Service Overview

A Message from Our Administrative Director
“We think about cancer in terms of hope and life,” says Karen North, administrative director of the Providence Cancer Institute.  “People should realize that cancer is not always the death sentence it once was.  There are millions of people across the U.S. who are cancer survivors --- people who are active, happy, and cancer-free.  With the expertise, technology and research that are available in cancer care, chances are great that when caught early, cancer can be cured or managed as a chronic disease like diabetes.  The bottom line is that men and women should not be afraid to undergo screenings and early detection tests.  They’re our best defense against the disease.”
