Integrating the 12 Steps and Stages of Change into Treatment

This training will help clinicians to identify stages of change and learn tools to assist clients in moving through the change process. Participants will learn how the 12 Steps and the Transtheoretical model can be integrated to help clients change. The training will involve hands-on practice to incorporate these concepts into documentation including Intakes, Treatment Plans, and Session Notes.

Sign-in begins half hour prior to program start.
All in-service programs are three contact hours, unless otherwise identified. Contact hours will be granted only for participants who attend the entire program. Certificates of completion will be distributed upon completion of the course by mail.

Eastwood Clinics In-service - Latest Updates and Transition from the DSM-IV-tr to the DSM V

The American Psychiatric Association is in the middle of a historical revision to its diagnostic "constitution", the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (or DSM). This book is used by clinicians, insurance companies, and even the legal system to define and identify the types and thresholds of mental illness that become the focus of treatment and research. This seminar will provide up to date information on the progress of this manual which is scheduled to hit bookstores in May 2013. Moreover, information will be provided on where the DSM IV-tr ends and the DSM V begins. Finally, Information will be provided on sociopolitical and cultural implications of this change and how these changes might affect treatment in the future and what can be done presently to prepare for it.
