The Oakland Center offers a full range of adult medical and surgical services provided by board-certified physicians with a majority having university appointments. They conduct medical research as part of university-directed programs in family practice, emergency medicine, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, and cardiovascular care.
St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center, is a 159-bed acute care, osteopathic teaching hospital that is affiliated with Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. With a 400-member medical staff, St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center, offers more than 35 medical and surgical specialties, with a focus on advanced diagnostics and treatment for cancer, cardiac, psychiatric and aging patients. The hospital also features a Sleep Disorders Clinic that diagnoses and treats people with sleeping problems and related illnesses such as sleep apnea.
