St. John Providence Health System NeuroOnCall is a simple way to provide community hospitals and physicians quick access to neuroscience specialists. With a national shortage of highly trained physicians with subspecialty expertise in Neuroscience critical care, a physician may have a patient in the office that they suspect has a neuro disorder, but, lacking specialists on their local medical staff, they may not be sure who to call for consultation. For both urgent and non-urgent situations, we provide physicians with access to a carefully developed decision triage that routes them efficiently to the specialists they need.

Hospitals affiliated with the St. John Providence Health System Van Elslander Neuroscience Center of Excellence enjoy direct access to a full spectrum of SJPHS Neuroscience services via SJPHS’s 24/7 NeuroOnCall service. By calling one phone number, any time of day or night, staff at affiliated hospitals can consult with experienced SJPHS neuroscience specialists regarding their patients experiencing stroke, epilepsy, spine (back pain), movement disorders, brain tumor, aneurysm and more… this can be especially helpful in the treatment of stroke when every lost second means more brain cells lost.
