We appreciate your interest in building a career at St. John Providence Health System Laboratories (SJPHSL). We provide clinical and anatomic laboratory services for our numerous hospitals and medical facilities in southeast Michigan. Our broad spectrum of services include: chemistry, clinical microscopy, clinical pathology, cytopathology, electron microscopy, endocrinology, FNA biopsy, hematology, immunology, microbiology, molecular pathology, oral pathology, serology, surgical pathology, drugs of abuse testing, transfusion medicine, and virology. A sophisticated information network supports our laboratory services.

St. John Providence Health System Laboratories operates on a core laboratory concept. High volume advanced technological test methods are performed each day in the SJPHSL Core Laboratory located at our Detroit/Grosse Pointe Woods campus. The core laboratory services both inpatient and outpatient customers from across southeast Michigan. Our numerous affiliated hospital and medical center laboratories located throughout the metropolitan Detroit area provide critical laboratory services required to support patient care activities at their respective locations. Where can I find education programs to prepare me for a career in the laboratory?

Hospital Based - Medical Laboratory Science Internship Programs (for individuals who have completed required university coursework in Medical Laboratory Science).

College/University Based – Medical Laboratory Science Programs – the following southeast Michigan schools offer 2 or 4 year degree programs in Medical Laboratory Science.
