CT Scanning
The Providence Medical Center -Farmington Hills features a 16 multi-slice CT scanner. This means that 16 imaging slices are obtained per revolution. This enables rapid imaging with exquisite detail.
As a result of the very high speed, organs and vessels are imaged during the peak of contrast enhancement. The system is also equipped with a state-of-the-art software system that allows for extraordinary 3-D reconstruction of musculo-skeletal, organs, brain and spine, arteries, tumors and many other applications, such as virtual colonoscopy.
This new technology will also provide referring physicians with a CD that self loads onto their own computer.
