• an outpatient chemotherapy department with a specially skilled nursing staff
• surgery
• mammography
• a monthly support group

St. John Health System and St. John River District Hospital Partner with the University of Michigan Cancer Center Network

An affiliation agreement between the St. John Health System and the University of Michigan Cancer Center Network (UMCCN) allows physicians on staff at St. John River District Hospital to become members of the UMCCN. This agreement provides the physicians and their patients with access to state-of-the-art technology and treatments, as well as access to clinical trials.

St. John River District Hospital Oncologist Timothy Cox, M.D., medical director of the oncology clinic at SJRDH, is an approved UMCCN physician. He has also been selected to serve on the SJHS-U-M Physician Advisory Board.

St. John River District Hospital is the only St. Clair County hospital eligible to participate in the U-M Cancer Center Network programs as a result of this affiliation.

Healing Arts Center Services Available to Oncology Patients

Patients experiencing cancer treatments often find comfort by exploring healing opportunities for the mind, body and spirit. The St. John River District Hospital Healing Arts Center offers a number of classes and services to help patients do that, in addition to making available a wide variety of items such as healing music and aromatherapy in the Healing Arts Center gift shop.

The gift shop is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located inside the hospital adjacent to the main lobby.
