Pacemaker Assessment

What it is?

Pacemaker surveillance tests the function of your pacemaker, which is the device under your skin that keeps your heart beat regular.

How is the test performed?

A wand is placed over the device to communicate with the pacemaker and determine its function. You are seated during this evaluation.

What will it show?

The evaluation will show the strength of the battery, if wires are broken, and if the settings and function of the pacemaker are correct or normal.

Patient preparation and recovery

No special preparation or recovery is needed. Transmitters are loaned to patients who wish to do transtelephonic monitoring from home.
