Jacobs, Michael J, MD
Dr. Jacobs has completed a fellowship in surgical oncology that included rotations at the Mayo Clinic and in Leeds, England where he developed the skills necessary to perform complex Hepatobiliary, pancreas, and foregut surgery. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery with Wayne State University and is an active member of the surgical residency and teaching faculty at various medical schools. He is active in research both clinically and basic science and has presented research worldwide. Currently, he serves as the chairman of the research committee at Providence Hospital. He has provided guest lectures in India, Japan, and other countries. He has also demonstrated live laparoscopic surgery in those countries. He is a member of numerous medical and surgical societies, locally, nationally, and internationally and currently serves as the Vice President for the International College of Surgeons – United States Section. He has developed innovative techniques for the surgical approaches to foregut surgery both via the open method as well as the laparoscopic method. His offices are maintained in Southfield and Novi, Michigan.
