Career Profiles: Radiologic Technologist

What do they do?

Radiologic Technologists take X-rays and administer non-radioactive materials into patient's bloodsteams for diagnostic purposes.

Where do they work?

Hospitals, medical and diagnostic laboratories and in physician offices.

Educational Requirements

Formal training programs range in length from 2-4 years and lead to a certificate, an associates degree or a bachelor's degree.  Two-year associate degrees are most common.  National certification (ARRT) is required by most hospitals.
