Career Profiles: Medical Assistant

What do they do?

Medical assistants help physicians deliver patient care by performing clinical and administrative tasks.

Where do they work?

Outpatient settings, but may work in hospitals or specialty offices.

Educational Requirements

Training programs are provided by community colleges and vocational/technical training schools.  They may take between six months to 2 years to complete.
